Mindfulness and Yoga Therapy

Mindfulness, or the practice of cultivating present-moment awareness with compassion, can help you live a more joyful and fulfilling life. Mindfulness-based counseling and coaching aim to help you develop the skills you need to be fully present in your life.

I integrate mindfulness into counseling and coaching in a variety of ways, including:

  • Bringing attention to the breath and showing you how to regulate your breathing in order to influence how you feel

  • Incorporating meditation and visualization into your sessions

  • Using somatic practices that help you notice how your body feels in the moment, and how those sensations may relate to emotions, memories, and experiences

  • Practicing thoughtful and slow movement to both identify and process emotions

  • Incorporating the theories and practices of yoga therapy — a healing system that uses yoga poses, breath work, meditation, mantra, and sound — to help you find more ease in your body and mind
